Linda Fistler

Linda Susan Anderson was born September 21, 1958 in Detroit Lakes to Harold M. and Evelyn C. (Gilbertson) Anderson. She was raised in Detroit Lakes and was a graduate of Detroit Lakes High School in 1976. Linda attended the Detroit Lakes Technical College and earned her Business Associates degree. She worked at Dynamic Homes as an office manager for 5 years where she met Jim Fistler. They were united in marriage in the summer of 1979 at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. Linda worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MN DOT) for 26 years. She retired the summer of 2008 due to health reasons. Jim passed away in June of 1994.


Linda loved her cats, Eli and Eddy. She also enjoyed fishing, crocheting and oil painting. Linda recently remodeled her home and took great pride in her work.  She had an extremely independent nature where no task was too big or too small. Linda was a caring person. She loved spending time with her son, Mike, watching T.V. and was always willing to lend and ear and offer advice. One of her favorite memories was her trip with her son, going to Colorado, visiting relatives and horseback riding in the mountains.


Linda will be remembered and missed by her son, Michael (April Busche) of Detroit Lakes; one sister, Bev (Paul C.) Johnson of Detroit Lakes; one brother, Dave Anderson of Detroit Lakes. She is also survived by one niece; two nephews and two great-nieces along with her parents; Harold (Evelyn) Anderson of Detroit Lakes, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim and her grandparents.
