Linda was born on March 20, 1946, in Jamestown, ND to Fred and Ida Geist. She was raised in Jamestown and on September 25th, 1966, she married Edward Kelleran and they continued to live in Jamestown where they raised their family until 1997, when they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN where they lived for the last 25 years.
She loved many things: Jesus, her husband of 56 years, her two children, her 5 grandchildren, keeping a wonderful and cozy home and bird watching on her back porch. She loved to hostess and was the best cook and baker around. She would share baked goodies with others even when there was no occasion to do so. Linda truly loved to bless those around her as she was blessed.
She also loved interacting with children and in the 70’s and 80’s, she provided daycare in her home in Jamestown where she developed several close relationships with her daycare children, and their families, over the years. She later enjoyed seeing them grow up into young adults and start their own lives.
Linda became the quintessential grandma for the first time in 1996. She would go on to dote over five wonderful grandchildren over the years.
She also loved working at Norby’s Department Store when she and Ed moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. She loved the environment and enjoyed working with her colleagues as well. They were all “family” in her book. Linda was also known to dote on her customer’s and their children as they shopped in the children's department where she worked. She made sure that anyone shopping in that department would surely come away with exactly what they were looking for.
Linda had a passion for her backyard and her flower garden and would make time to weed it as well as to enjoy sitting on the red bench strategically located within the garden. She loved to watch all of the MN birds fly in and out of the yard as she soaked up the sunshine. She and her husband fed those birds well.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and kindness that will be missed by so many. She touched so many lives in her 76 years. She will be remembered for her classic style of perfectly manicured nails and her bold purple hair. Her faith in Jesus kept her strong and she knew she’d be in Heaven one day.
Linda passed away peacefully from a short battle with cancer on November 17th, 2022, holding her dear husband’s hand, at home, in Detroit Lakes.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; her two children, Tony (Bethany) Kelleran of Eden Prairie, MN; and Candi (Travis) Hopkins of Fargo, ND; and her five grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and her sister Konnie.
