Linda Leonhardt

Linda L. Leonhardt, 69, Ponsford, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Frazee Care Center, Frazee. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, October 29 at 2PM in the Old Pine Point School, Pine Point. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 28 at the Old Pine Point School starting at 4PM. Linda Lu Butcher was born November 26, 1945 in Ponsford, MN to Charles Stewart and Violet Butcher. She was raised and educated in Pine Point. She earned her GED in Park Rapids and attended the Culinary Arts program at Detroit Lakes Vocational School. She worked as a cook at Pine Point School for several years before transitioning to a Home Health Aide. Linda provided transportation to many folks to and from Dr. appointments. In August of 1983, Linda was united in marriage to Fred Leonhardt at Breck Memorial Episcopal Church in Ponsford. Linda and Fred resided in Glyndon, MN before purchasing a lake home on Shell Lake. Linda enjoyed going to rummage sales, playing bingo, Rumi cube, fishing, playing guitar and listening to gospel music. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time and playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Linida will be remembered and missed by her husband, Fred of Osage, children: Donna (Lenny) Smith of Ponsford, Jackie Adams of Ponsford, Carleen (Butch) Roberts of Ponsford, Julie Stewart, Robert Butcher, Bruce Leonhardt, Tanya Leonhardt, Dayton Adams and David (Erica Wichern) Adams Sr. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren along with three brothers: Sonny Stewart, Charlie Stewart and Calvin Nicholas, one sister: Susie Stewart and one sister-in-law: Nancy Stewart. She is preceded in death by her parents, one grandson: Scott Adams, sisters: Lyda Nicholas and Lee Nicholas and two close step-brothers: Kenneth "Woody" Butcher Sr, Jim Butcher, Donald Nicholas, Nick Nicholas, Daisy Butcher and Gary Steward.
