Lois Carol Freiborg passed away peacefully on November 4th, 2024 in Detroit Lakes surrounded by her loving family. Lois was born on November 29th, 1946 in Sacred Heart, MN. On June 20,1965, at the age of 18, Lois married her high school sweetheart Les Freiborg of Danube, MN. Together they shared a beautiful, fulfilling and loving marriage. They raised two daughters and were fortunate to enjoy time with five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Lois worked alongside Les in an X-Ray business they started in Detroit Lakes, MN. Though neither had experience in running a business, together they launched and ran a very successful company until they both retired at the age of 65.
Lois also had many hobbies throughout her life. She loved to be out on the boat fishing, or at home working on craft projects. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking for her family - and her family equally enjoyed her special baked treats. Lois also loved to shop and spent much of her free time taking her family shopping. She couldn’t pass up a good sale.
Lois was tremendously fond of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent as much time with them as possible and was incredibly thankful for that time, making memories with each of them.
Lois is survived by daughters Tammy (Michael) Defiel and Kari (Tim) Nuteson, sister Shirley (Adrian) Hoffman, grandchildren Danielle (Adam) Spieker, Tyler Blauert, Brittney (Alex) Barney, Andrew and Sam Nuteson , as well as great-grandchildren Annikah, Arabella, Aurora, Liam, Nico and Bodie, all of whom will forever cherish her loving memory.
Preceded in death by husband Les Freiborg, parents Rena and Themen Benson, sister Ramona Aalderks, brother Marlyn Benson.
A private celebration of life with be held with the family, per Lois’ wishes.
