Lorena Teuber

Lorena Elizabeth Teuber, 95, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 in Detroit Lakes, MN. A gathering of family and friends will take place Monday, June 24, in the Holy Rosary

Catholic Church of Detroit Lakes, starting with the Rosary by the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters at 10:00 AM followed at 11:00 AM with the Mass of Christian Burial. Monsignor  Timothy McGee officiating. Lorena was born on October 17, 1923 in Lengby, MN, to Bernard and Magdalena (Voit) Walz and was raised on the family farm. She graduated from Mahnomen  High School in 1941. In the fall of 1949 she married the love of her life Reuben Teuber. They celebrated 44 years of marriage. Lorena was a hard worker and over the years was employed by a number of Detroit Lakes establishments. She enjoyed casino trips and was active with Judy’s Tours. She loved baking and visitors were greeted with offers of hot coffee and homemade sugar cookies. One of Lorena’s favorite things to do was to play cards with family. She enjoyed dancing, often taking dance steps when polka music played. Lorena’s outlook on life was work hard and proved that by shoveling snow and mowing her lawn into her nineties.

Preceding Lorena in death are her parents, her husband Reuben, and her brother Delmer. Lorena’s passing is mourned by her niece Lisa (David) Mattke; sister-in-law Diane (Schooler) Walz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Becker County Food Pantry.
