Lothar Haerle

Lothar O. Haerle, age 82, resident of Detroit Lakes, MN, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at Sunnyside Care Center of Lake Park, MN. Funeral Services for Lothar will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes with Reverend Dan Abrahams officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church on Tuesday.
Lothar Otto Haerle was born to Carl and Clara (Birr) Haerle on November 22, 1925 in Stewart, MN. Born into a large family of 14 children, he moved with his family to Minneapolis and there he was raised and attended schools in the Minneapolis area. He moved to Detroit Lakes where he was employed with various jobs in the area including working as a gas attendant for Stensland Oil, Fields Highway 10 Station and he also worked as a groundskeeper in a local cemetery. Lothar also worked for Bunnell's Recreation which was owned by his brother and sister-in-law, Reuben and June Haerle.
Lothar was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and in later years, he enjoyed playing Whist, bingo and doing word puzzles. Lothar had a strong Christian faith and was a dedicated supporter of his church.
He is survived by a sister, Ruth Kluver, Minneapolis, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.
