Marietta Hartman

Marietta F. Hartman, 65, St. Cloud, MN, formerly of Detroit Lakes, MN, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 PM Monday, January 17 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, Msgr. Timothy McGee, officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends may call 4:00 – 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM Sunday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the mass at the church on Monday. Marietta Fay Hartman was born November 26, 1945 in Roseau, MN to Clifford and Harriet (Knepper) Wickstrom. She was raised and educated in International Falls, MN and is a 1964 graduate of International Falls High School. She attended the Alexandria (MN) Vocational Technical College. She then moved to St. Cloud, MN where she worked for Fingerhut Corporation. Marietta returned to International Falls where she worked for Biose-Cascade. Marietta was united in marriage to Peter Hartman October 5, 1968 in Chokio, MN. They lived in Alexandria, MN until moving to Detroit Lakes in 1969. Marietta worked for Detroit State Bank, King's Plumbing and Heating and was the business manager for Holy Rosary Parish in Detroit Lakes. Peter died in 2004. Marietta retired and built a home on Floyd Lake near Detroit Lakes. She moved to St. Cloud in June, 2010. Marietta enjoyed reading, country western music, doing crafts, traveling and doing volunteer work Her passion was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was known for her generosity and for her willingness to help others. Survivors include a daughter: Arlene (Richard) Lillis of St. Cloud; two grandchildren: Chandra and Garrett Lillis; brothers and sister: Larry (Terry) of Aitkin, MN, Cliffton (Valarie) of Minneapolis, MN, Robin (Paula) of Boise, ID, Marjorie (Ron) Ames of Traverse City MI, John (Donna) of Fall Brook, CA, Jimmy (Diane) of Medina, OH and Jeff of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
