Mark Allen Hagedorn was born February 8, 1952 in Buffalo Center, IA to Melbourne and Luella (Johnson) Hagedorn. He graduated from Rake Community High School in Rake, IA and furthered his education at Mankato State University. After college, Mark began working at State Bank of Fairmont in Fairmont, MN. On May 7, 1977 Mark was united in marriage to Beth Endersbe. He moved to Detroit Lakes in 1984 continuing his career with Lakeland Federal Savings and Loan to presently Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union where he was the Lending and Development Manager. Mark centered his life around his children and grandchildren. Always present, Mark was a problem solver by nature and “rock” for his kids throughout the years. His wise and sound advice encouraged them to be the best they could be. He instilled in his kids a love for family, their community and dedication to their profession. Mark led by example and always carried a “get it done” attitude. He was truly humbled by recently being honored with the “Mr. Laker-#1 Laker Booster” award by the Detroit Lakes Booster Club. He was proud of the Detroit Lakes Lakers and enjoyed following Nick, Anna and Alex through their activities and continuing that support long after they were done. He also was an avid Minnesota Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves and Gopher fan. In his spare time, if he wasn’t spoiling his grandchildren, Mark enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and simply having a cup of coffee with a friend. Mark was a pillar of strength for his family and loved the community of Detroit Lakes and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mark is survived by his children: Nick (Cortney) Hagedorn of Andover, MN, Anna (Josh) Muzik of Detroit Lakes and Alex (Alyssa) Hagedorn of Detroit Lakes. He is also survived by his pride and joys in life, his six grandchildren: Avery Hagedorn, Hoyt Muzik, Madden Hagedorn, Kora Muzik, Knox Muzik and baby girl Hagedorn due in January 2018.
