Marlowe Olander Johnson was born February 13, 1947, in St. Paul, MN to Jacy Johnson and Dorothy (Gohde) Johnson. He grew up in the Twin Cities area. Marlowe started working at gas stations, doing roof work with brother-in-law, Kent Pitlick, and welded at Johnson Screens for many years until he retired in 2010.
Marlowe married Lucille Woodruff on December 18, 1965, in Weyerhauser, WI. They had two daughters, Karrie and Kim. They lived in many different areas and finally settled on 20 acres outside of Pine City, MN. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and spending time family and friends.
Marlowe passed away at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN under the care of Hospice on January 18, 2023. He was 75 years old.
Marlowe is survived by his daughters, Karrie (Paul) Rohweller, granddaughter, Allison Rohweller, and Kim David, Gordy Johnson, Martin Johnson, Jacy (Michelle) Johnson, Sandy (Jim) Belanger, Joy (Ed) Gillespie, Irvine (Linda) Woodruff, Frank Guerra, Steven Plato, Randy Smith, Rose (Norm) Trader, Pam (Ross) Kirgis, Kathy (Ralph) Bumann, Colleen (Elray) Christenson, Annette (Tod) Stewart, Pat (Duane) Kautz, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Marie, his parents, one brother (Leonard Johnson), one sister (Pearl Pitlick) and in-laws.
His daughter would like to thank Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Oak Crossing Nursing Home, and Red River Valley Hospice Care for all their care and support.
