Marvin John Eidenschink

Marvin John Eidenschink, 70, of Detroit Lakes, MN died on Monday, July 29, 2024 at St. Catherine’s, in Fargo, ND.

He was born on June 12, 1954, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, the son of Sylvester and Dorothy (McDonough) Eidenschink. He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1973 and went on to work in various roles, primarily in autobody and auto mechanics. He was known for his passion for automobiles, particularly Ford cars, and had a special love for Mustangs. Marv enjoyed building model cars and was an enthusiast of nascar, motorcycles, and snowmobiles. In 1980, Marv married Joyce Cummins at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes. Although their marriage was brief, Joyce has remained his friend. Throughout his life, he lived a simple lifestyle and was loved by many for his kind spirit and genuine nature. 

Marv is survived by his three brothers; Dennis (Donna), Richard, and David (Susan), two sisters, Clarice (Bob) Laney and Lori (Kenny) Haspel, and many nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kay. 

Marv's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to St. Catherines for their compassionate care during his final days. Hospice of the Red River Valley and Essentia Health of Detroit Lakes and Fargo will also be remembered with appreciation for their help in a difficult time. 

The memorial service for Marvin Eidenschink will be held at David-Donehower Funeral Home, 609 US HWY 10 E., Detroit Lakes, MN 56501, on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 2 PM with Chaplain Scott Ailie officiating. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior.
