Mary Hanebuth

Mary Lou Hanebuth was born March 13, 1948 in Height of Land Township near Osage, MN. to Grover and Armanella (Johnson) Cartwright. She was raised in Height of Land Township and is a 1966 graduate of Frazee High School. Mary was united in marriage to Allyn "Butch" Hanebuth, August 27, 1966 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Shell Lake. They lived their entire married life in Toad Lake Township, rural Osage. She is a graduate of the Chef Training Program at the Detroit Lakes Vocational College. Mary worked at Swift and Company and, from 1993 – 2013 as the baker for Emmanuel Nursing Home. Mary cherished time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to rummage and garage sales, baking, activities with the Toad Lake Red Hat Ladies, which she co-founded, and visiting with people. Mary had a deep faith and lived her faith every day. She served as the Secretary of the NW MN Women's Synodical Organization for many years. She made a good first impression and, once she met you, she always remembered you. Survivors include her husband Allyn "Butch" of Osage, MN, 2 daughters: Stacy (Gerald) Rohde of West Fargo, ND, Lisa Hanebuth of Fargo, ND, 6 grandchildren, Tyrese Childs, Leyah, Leontrey and Mylee Ward, Madyson and Isabella Rohde, 2 sisters: Hazel (Vernon) Lanctot of San Antonio, TX, Sara Boobar of San Antonio, TX, Brothers and sisters-in-law: Jim (Sandy) Hanebuth and Janice (Bob) Sonnenberg all of Detroit Lakes. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, David and John and a sister, Susan. David-Donehower Funeral Home is serving the family. www.daviddonehower.com. Memorials are preferred.
