Mary Ann Voigt, 89, of Detroit Lakes, MN, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Oak Crossing nursing facility, Detroit Lakes, surrounded by her family under Hospice care. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 4, 2016, 1:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Monday at the church. Officiating will be Monsignor Timothy McGee. Burial of Mary Ann's cremations will be made at Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN, on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Mary Ann was born November 23, 1926, in Crookston, MN, the daughter of Gregor & Sophia (Nielsen) Useldinger, of rural Euclid, MN. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Euclid. The family moved to East Grand Forks, MN when she was eight years old. She graduated from high school in East Grand Forks, with the class of 1943. When she was thirteen she was an active leader in 4-H winning a state title with her cow. She was united in marriage to Frank Fanfulik on October 23, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks, MN. Two sons were born to them, Craig and Mark. Frank passed away after they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN where she worked for Erie 34 and then Erie Jr restaurants for many years as a waitress and everyone enjoyed her waiting on them! On September 7, 1963, she was united in marriage to Stanley Voigt in Detroit Lakes. They lived in Moorhead, MN where Stan was in partnership at Edling Electric and Mary Ann worked as a banquet waitress at the Bowler in Fargo, ND. He retired in 1989 and they then moved in 1990 to Detroit Lakes, where they built their permanent home on Little Detroit Lake. She was a avid golfer, loved to travel where she and Stan spent a few winters in Florida on a golf course with friends. Stan died in January of 1999. She continued to live at the lake home until December of 2015, when she moved to Oak Crossing nursing facility in Detroit Lakes. She also traveled down to Texas to spend winter months with her brothers. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, home-makers, card club, reading many books and exchanging books with her book club members. Dancing was a highlight of her day where she was often seen at different dance places. Summers were the joy of her life when her grandchildren would come each year where she taught them to swim, water ski and spoil them rotten. She also enjoyed the many family picnics of the Nielsen clan in June of each year at Euclid, MN where she had fun visiting with her many cousins. She was a remarkable woman helping out her family with every project that was needed. She enjoyed taking care of her great-grandchildren who were another joy of her life! She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes. She is survived by her two sons, Craig (Bonnie) Voigt, New Rockford, ND and Mark (Kathy) Voigt, Tallahassee, FL: two grandchildren, Jeff (Angie) Voigt, Park Rapids, MN and Jacy (Cheryl Vaske) Voigt, Medford, OR; four great-grandchildren, Ean, Chloe, Aleah and Claire Voigt, all Park Rapids, MN; two brothers, Robert Useldinder, East Grand Forks, MN and Gregor (Betty) Useldinger Jr., East Grand Forks, MN; one sister, Betty (Ben) Nelson, Vancouver, WA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stan; sister, Phyllis Kozel; brother, Conrad (Connie) Useldinger; sister-in-law, Angela Useldinger; nephew, Gary Useldinger; numerous aunts, uncles and cousin.
