Melvin Clarence Thompson, age 61 of Waubun, MN passed away on December 17, 2021 at his residence.
Melvin, also known as “Uncle Ole” was born on January 18, 1960 to Maurice Jackson and Myrtle (Boswell) Thompson in Minneapolis, MN. Melvin attended school up to 12th grade but decided working was more important.
Melvin was an avid outdoorsman and especially had a love for fishing. He spent time gardening, cutting wood with family members, trips to the casino and telling jokes as the “good time Ole kinda guy.” He looked forward to family get togethers and on the 4th of July he would put on a spectacular firework show for all the kids. He was a kid at heart, himself. He was known for his one liner’s (too many), listening to classic rock with a cold one in hand and friends and family by his side. Melvin shared a wealth of knowledge to the young and would explain the process and send them off with the tools to figure it out.
Melvin will be deeply missed by everyone he shared his heart with. He leaves behind his siblings; Joan, Karen, Pete, Bobbi, Bob, Barb and Dave; several nieces and nephews and especially Mauricio and Patrick.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Cheryl - DeeDee, Carol, Elmer-Sonny, Sandy, Laurel; and special nephew Alan.
