Michael P. Largo Sgro was born October 22, 1941 in Manhattan, New York to Pasquale and Mary (Frischia) Sgro. He was raised and educated in Manhattan. In 1965, Mike moved to California and worked at Piece O’ Pizza. He later took a job managing House of Pies, a restaurant in Beverley Hills. On September 25, 1968, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Crowell in Las Vegas, NV. In 1977, he moved to Detroit Lakes to be closer to his family and for 22 years worked as chef at the Holiday Inn of Detroit Lakes. Family meant the most to Mike and he loved spending time with his children, whether stopping by for a visit or holiday gatherings. He was especially fond of his nine grandchildren, cherishing every moment he was able to spend with them.
Mike will be remembered and missed by his children: Michael (Tammi) Sgro of Gilbert, AZ, Tiffany E. (Daniel) Van Steenwyk and Dion (Missy) Sgro both of Detroit Lakes. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brandi, Michael, Piper, Greyson, Dion, Mason, Brailee, Brinley and Bracie along with his two adopted grandchildren; Emily and Andy.
He is preceded in death by his parents along with one sister and one brother.
