Michele Cariveau

Michele Elaine Cariveau, age 55 of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes.

Michele was born on November 17, 1968, to Charles and Elaine (Ponto) Stilke in Detroit Lakes. She attended school and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1987. Michele was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN.

Michele was united in marriage to Roger Cariveau and together they had two children.

Michele spent several years working as a Senior Administrator at Lutheran Social Services in Detroit Lakes. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and enjoyed going on trips with them, especially to Canada. Michele was known as the family photographer and took joy in capturing the moments they spent together. She also enjoyed the outdoors and loved watching butterflies, growing flowers and the hummingbirds at their feeders. Michele also knew the importance of self-care and enjoyed having manicures, pedicures and her hair done.

Surviving Michele are her husband, Roger Cariveau; children, Kayla Cariveau and Derrick (Alyssa) Cariveau; mother, Elaine Stilke; sister Kathy (Brian) Willie; brothers Craig Stilke, Paul Stilke, David (Nikki) Stilke; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Stilke; grandparents, Norman and Evie Ponto and Arthur and Gertie Stilke; and an infant brother, Mark.

Visitation will be held at David-Donehower Funeral and Cremation Service in Detroit Lakes on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m.
