Michelle Groth

Michelle Ann Smith was born in St. Cloud, MN on November 25, 1973 to Robert & Mary R. (Stalberger) Smith. She was baptized and confirmed in Avon, MN and graduated from Albany High School in 1992. She attended Moorhead State University for one year and later attended Interstate Business College. On October 8, 1994 she married Erik Groth in Avon, MN. They resided in Detroit Lakes, MN before later moving to Ogema, MN where Michelle ran SM Dispatch. Most recently she has been working for Zayic Construction. Michelle loved dancing, dancing, dancing and also enjoyed playing softball with her girlfriends in the summer, going to the casino with her mother and grandmother, horseback riding on her favorite horse “Prince” playing with her puppy “Gabe”, but most importantly, cherishing time spent with family and friends especially the lights and loves of her life her “BABIES”, Cole, Haley, Carsten, and Jenna Rose.

Michelle will be remembered and deeply missed by Erik of Ogema, her children; Cole, Haley, Carsten and Jenna Rose of Ogema, parents: Robert and Mary R. Smith of Avon, MN, her special God-Daughter; Lindsay Michelle Sand of Albany, MN, two sisters; Nicole Althaus of Avon, MN, and Roberta Lea (Fiancé Michael Ringstad). She is also survived by her brother-in-law Kyle Althaus and God Parents; Michael & Judy Steebar and the many, many lives Michelle has touched.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Tony & Marie Stalberger, Jerome & Marie Smith and Aunt Kay.
