Mikelene Ludwig

Mikelene K. Ludwig, 93, Fargo, ND, died Friday at her home. Funeral services will be 5:30 PM Monday at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Interment will be in St. Leonard's Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MN. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Mikelene Kay Ludwig was born January 1, 1920 near Esmond, ND to Joseph and Gertrude (Pfliger) Heisler, where she was raised and educated. Mikelene was united in marriage to George Ludwig January 23, 1939 in Esmond. They lived in Esmond until moving to Fargo in 1954. She worked for Ken's Cafeteria and then, for over 40 years as a seamstress for Strauss Clothing in Fargo, retiring in 1982. For many years, Mikelene and George enjoyed a lake home near Prairie Lake near Pelican Rapids. They returned to Fargo in 2006. George died August 29, 2013. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, doing crafts and playing cards. Survivors include two sons: Alvin (Valeta) of Ottertail, MN, Dale of Pelican Rapids, MN, 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, George, she was preceded in death by a son, DeWayne, two grandchildren: Allen and Ashley, seven brothers and five sisters. David-Donehower Funeral Home is serving the family.
