The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Mildred Mathilda Caspers, known as "Mitzie", was born March 19, 1929 in Ogema, MN to John and Mary Ann (Lorsung) Kraker. She was raised and educated in Ogema and is a 1947 graduate of Waubun (MN) High School. Mitzie was united in marriage to Val Caspers May 4, 1948 in Ogema. They spent their entire married life in Ogema where Mitzie worked for the Ogema Post Office and later for the Ogema State Bank, retiring in 1994. Mitzie's life revolved around her family and friends. Her family members were her top priority and she took pride in all of their accomplishments, big or small. She enjoyed and cherished every minute that she had family members around her. She loved single visits just as much as she loved her big family reunions. Mitzie was an avid sports fan. She especially enjoyed watching or listening to any sporting event that involved her kids and grandkids. It didn't matter whether they were playing or coaching. On many Friday nights she could be found with two, or more, radios on, along with the TV, so she didn't miss any of the action. She seldom missed a Vikings or Timberwolves game, and she never missed a Twins game! She was a wonderful wife and mother and a great friend. Her sincere concern for others, their lives, and well being were always put above her own needs. Many, many people will miss her weekly cards, letters, and phone calls. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Mitzie loved reading, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, golfing, (in her younger years) and casino trips with her sister, daughters, and nieces. Mitzie was a devout member of Most Holy Redeemer parish where she attended daily mass as often as she was able to. She was also a life member of the Ogema VFW Auxiliary, the Ladies Sodality, and the Ogema Community Club. She was a remarkable woman that touched the lives of many and will be missed dearly by all. Survivors include her husband, Val of Ogema; children: Roger Caspers of Fargo, ND, Kathy (John "Bomber") Clark of Ogema, Bruce (Michelle) Caspers of Round Up, MT, Sharon (Rick) Paul of Cloquet, MN, David Caspers of Ogema, Barbara (Kevin) Coyle of Dilworth, Robert "Bo" Caspers of Ogema, Sandi (Bob) Haverkamp of Ogema, 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother: Leonard Kraker of Sioux City, IA and a sister: Betty (Cecil) Cook of Frazee, MN. along with many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Melissa Paul, her parents, John and Mary Ann; her step-mother: Tillie Kraker and seven brothers and sisters: Lawrence Kraker, Florence James, Rosalie Kraker, Mary Ann Niehaus, John Kraker Jr., Margaret Bakkus and James Kraker.
