As a young man, Morris worked on area farms, and then joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in Port Angelos, Washington.
He returned to
Detroit
lakes in 1938 and became a member of a local boxing team.
On May 26, 1939 Morris was united in marriage with Birdie Vogt in
Detroit
lakes where he was employed at
Bryngelson
Service
Center
.
From 1949-1968, Morris and his brother, Carl, operated Knutson Brothers Texaco, 1968-1978, Morris and Carl owned and operated Knutson Brothers Union 76, and from 1978-1984 they owned and operated Knutson Brothers Car Service and Towing.

Church
in
Detroit
Lakes
, a charter member of the Eagles and a lifetime member of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, dancing, and collecting things; and most of all, “a good bargain” and his beloved dog, Misty.
Morris is survived by his daughters, Judith (Bud) Larson of Detroit Lakes and Julia (John) McDonough, Jr. of Fargo, ND; sisters, Alice Anderson of Richfield, MN and Mabel Murray of Tualatin, OR; brother Carl Knutson of Detroit Lakes; son-in-law, Roger Pfeifer of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren, Dan Pfeifer of Brunswick, Morrie (Veronica) Larson of Cedar Park, TX; great-grandchildren, Brandy Pfeifer of Brunswick and Jeff Larson of Cedar Park; great-great granddaughter, Abby Pfeifer of Brunswick.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Birdie; daughter, Carole Pfeifer; grandson, Eric Pfeifer; second brother, Custer
