Muriel, known as "Teed" was born April 30, 1917 at White Earth, MN to Jerry and Georgiana (Louzon) Selkirk She was united in marriage to James B. Hull, June 28, 1933 in Detroit Lakes, MN. She served as Postmaster in White Earth, MN until 1953 and at Grand Portage, MN until her retirement in 1977. She also owned and operated her own maple syrup candy business and worked as a customs agent on the U. S.-Canadian border. Jim died June 15, 1983. She retired from the U. S. Customs Service in 1985. Muriel loved to travel with her family and thoroughly enjoyed reading murder mysteries. Teed loved to laugh and had an amazing sense of humor. She also loved to dance, listen to big band music of the'40's, loved to go skiing with her daughter, Sharon in Thunder Bay, loved her water fights at the store with her husband, Jim, loved to shop, was famous for her home-made noodle soup, loved playing cards and sharing stories with others. Teed had a remarkable life and a loving family she cared for deeply. Teed will be remembered and deeply missed by her daughter: Sharon (Stuart) Jackson of Grand Maris, MN, her son: Rene (Barbara) Hull of Minneapolis, MN, loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Jim, Muriel was preceded in death by a son, Robert, a daughter, Virginia, a grandson, Peter and her parents.
