Nadine Marie Vigdal

Nadine was born on October 20, 1936, in Estherville, Iowa. The daughter of Warren and Lillian (Messinger) Mortimore. Nadine married David Vigdal on September 26, 1964, and they enjoyed 55 years together before his passing in 2020.

She enjoyed shopping, sewing, crafting, reading and decorating, especially at Christmas time.

Nadine had a passion and love for travelling. With her husband, Nadine travelled the world. She also shared several travel adventures with friends and her sister, Wilma. While Nadine loved the beauty of the snow in winter, she didn’t care about the cold weather and spent many years living in Florida. While living in Florida she spent her time shelling on Sanibel Island, attending the Fort Myers Theater, hosting family and friends, participating in art classes and playing Mahjong.

Nadine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her four children; Teresa Christopherson and her husband Dan of Litchfield, MN; David Vigdal Jr and his wife Cheri, of Becker, MN; Lisa Belehar and her husband Randy of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Tanya Hagen of Detroit Lakes, MN; Nine grandchildren, Amy Berube, Sara Winter, Kari Meyer, Ashley Ginter, Kendra Vigdal, Austin Vigdal, Akyra Hagen, Hunter Hagen and Spencer Hagen; six great-grandchildren, and one sister, Wilma Matthes. 

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Nadine in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Hospice of the Red River Valley or the Samaritan’s Purse.
