Nancy Bigbear

Nancy A. BigBear, 70, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Thursday, February 25 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 4 at 11AM in the Old Pine Point School, Ponsford. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 3 at the Old Pine Point School and continuing until the time of services on Friday. Interment will be held in Breck Memorial Episcopal Cemetery. Nancy was born May 24, 1945 in White Earth, MN to Lawrence Silk and Isabelle BigBear. She graduated from Circle of Life School in White Earth. She was united in marriage to Kenneth "Woody" Butcher Sr. Kenneth passed away May 26, 2003. Nancy enjoyed spending with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed trips to the casino, playing bingo, tending to her garden, cooking and going to pow-wows. Nancy is survived by four sons: Charles, Gary, Ron, Ken Jr., four daughters: Cynthia, Daisy, Shari and Linda, one step-daughter: Kathy along with 40 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four brothers: Gilbert Stewart, Charles Stewart, Russell Conklin, Lorraine "Susie" Stewart and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father: Charles P. Stewart, infant son: LaVerne, grandson: Dylan Ross, brothers: Lawrence Stewart, Gary A. Stewart and Ken Conklin, one sister: Betty Silk, uncles: Frank BigBear, Charlie BigBear, Raymond "Nebo" Conklin, aunts: Maxine BigBear, Doris Bryere, Angeline Hiltunen, great-great niece: Brandi Stewart, grandparents: William and Nancy BigBear.
