Nancy Marjamaa

Nancy G. Marjamaa, 58, Frazee, MN, died Saturday at the Frazee Care Center. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Friday at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at David-Donehower Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Nancy Glenda Marjamaa was born March 15, 1955 in Wadena, MN to Emil and Augusta (Golnick) Marjamaa. She was raised and educated in Menahga, MN and is a 1973 graduate of Menahga High School. She began her post-secondary education in River Falls, WI and earned an associate degree in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Nancy was united in marriage to Russ Vogt. They made their home in Detroit Lakes, MN where she worked for Snappy's and raised her family. She later worked at the General Store for many years and then at the County 6 B. P. Convenience Store. Nancy also owned, broke, groomed and cared for horses in the Detroit Lakes area. She was later a personal care attendant for Care 2000 and for Divine House in Morris, MN from 2007 – 2010. Upon her retirement in 2010, she returned to Detroit Lakes. Nancy enjoyed time with her grandchildren, horses, gardening, hunting, shooting guns, riding snowmobile, canning, crocheting and playing her Kindle. Survivors include a daughter: Amanda Vogt of West Fargo, ND, two sons: Kyle Vogt of Detroit Lakes, Casey (Jesse) Vogt of Detroit Lakes, five grandchildren: Dylan, Iliana, Isabella, Alaina, Owen, six brothers and three sisters: Harold (Janice) of LaPorte, MN, Amy (Frank) Leidenfrost of Staples, MN, David (Donna) of Menahga, MN, Allen (Janice) of Wolf Lake, MN, Ike (Anne) of Menahga, MN, Wade (Linda) of Menahga, MN, Mary McDunn of Little Falls, MN, Betty Marjamaa of Clarissa, MN and Otto (Veronica) of Detroit Lakes, MN. She was preceded in death by a son, Darrin and her parents.
