Nancy Pihlstrom

In Loving Memory of Nancy Louise Pihlstrom June 16, 1946 – January 19, 2025

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Nancy Louise Pihlstrom, who passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025 at the age of 78. Nancy L. Herbst was born on June 16, 1946 to Louis and Ruth Herbst of Frazee, MN. Nancy grew up in Frazee and graduated from Frazee High School.

Nancy met the love of her life, Ronald Leonard Pihlstrom and they were married on June 6, 1964. They made their home in Wadena, MN and later moved to Frazee where they have lived the majority of their lives together.

One of Nancy’s many passions was fishing. Nancy and Ron took numerous fishing trips with friends to Canada as well as Lake Michigan. She enjoyed Salmon fishing on Lake Michigan where they spent many summer months. Nancy also enjoyed the lake house on Lake Of The Woods in northern Minnesota. She especially enjoyed the kids and grandkids coming to visit and fish with them.

Nancy was a gifted seamstress. There wasn’t anything that she couldn’t sew. From sewing clothes for her children to making stuffed animals, she enjoyed every minute. She would make winter fronts for Daggett’s trucks for the winter months. Nancy was also passionate about crafting. She enjoyed painting on anything she could get her hands on including flower pots, walls, signs, and rocks. You name it, she painted on it!! She also made beautiful jewely with beads that were so intricate that it would take weeks to complete one necklace.

Nancy also loved to decorate Christmas Trees for the Festival of Trees every year in Frazee. She would come up with a theme each

year for that special tree and go all out with the decorations. She even took first place a few times.

Nancy is survived by her husband Ron; sister Marjean Kern; her children Sherry (Jerry) Eckman and James Pihlstrom; her grandchildren Kayla Ferrett and Cody (Bree) Ferrett; as well as her greatgrandchildren Brayden Smith, Aubriella Ferrett, and Everly Ferrett.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Louis Herbst; her brothers Ralph Herbst, Harvey Herbst and Roger Herbst; her grandson Bryton Pihlstrom; and her great-grandson Connor Ferrett.

In Accordance with Nancy’s wishes, no formal services will be held. The family plans to hold a Celebration Of Life in the summer of 2025.
