Nancy Smith

Nancy Lael Smith, 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep August 30, 2013. Nancy was born in Lake Benton, MN, to George and Katherine Knudsen on December 11, 1930. The family later moved to the Frazee area where Nancy met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Quentin Smith. They both graduated from Frazee High School and were later married. They worked and farmed in the Frazee area. Preceding Nancy in death were her husband, Quentin Smith; brother, Donnie Knudsen; sister, Faye Cole; grandchild, Cory Smith; and great grandchild, Breleigh Amiotte. She is survived by her children: Lance (Debbie), Deborah (Dave), Danny (Vicki), Kelly (Brenda), and Katherine; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and brother, George (Lorraine). Nancy LIVED, LOVED, LAUGHED, making life all about family. It was music to her ears when the horns tooted as family and friends drove by daily. Nancy enjoyed making treasures out of nothing---rocks, cement, glass, marbles, stumps, etc.; always fulfilling her dreams of what to create next. Nancy's wishes were to have a private family burial followed by a celebration of her life at her home. This celebration will be a potluck picnic held at 3 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013. Come family, come friends; come with, come without.
