Nathaniel Charles Goble, age 86, of Wadena, MN, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at his home. A memorial service will be 2:00 pm on Friday, November 16, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wadena, with a time of gathering an hour prior.
Nathaniel was born on September 27, 1932, to Vernon and Eva (Squire) Goble in Wadena. He lived at home and in Faribault, Fergus Falls, and Brainerd State Hospitals. He entered into a group home in 1974 and lived in Detroit Lakes, Hawley, and also at the Pembina Trail Group, Parkwood, and Trailwood Group Homes under Share-A-Home, where he lived for 36 years. He attended and worked for Wadena DAC in Sebeka and at the recycling center. He retired from the DAC in 2009.
Nate loved to talk about fishing, going to the cabin and camp in summer, looking at magazines, and going to church. He enjoyed the company of Reverend Melzer and visiting his friends over a cup of coffee. He loved to joke with people and to laugh. He enjoyed his peers and had many friends.
He is survived by his brother, Eugene (Marie) Goble of Ogema, MN; a sister, Violet Moench of Sebeka; three sisters-in-law’s: Rose, Donna, and Judy; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Eva Goble; brothers, Everett Goble, Stanley (Rita) Goble, Chester Goble, David Goble, and Robert “Dale” Goble; a sister, Olive (Floyd) Zeuli;
