Neil Englund

June 13, 1976 — April 24, 2017

Neil Daniel Englund was born June 13, 1976, to Vicki Bellanger and Daniel Englund in Detroit Lakes. He attended school in Wadena; Hanover Park, Illinois; Moorhead, MN; and Waubun, MN. He earned his GED and took some courses at White Earth Tribal and Community College. Neil had struggles through his life, but never hesitated to help anyone. He was caring and generous with his time and would help if anyone asked. He made caskets for people when they had nothing, and kept fires burning for many. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for a person that needed help. He did not have much and was content with that. He was a humble man and loved helping others, never asking or expecting anything in return. Neil worked at various positions throughout his brief stay with us. His most recent position was as a server at the Smoke restaurant in Shooting Star and he loved it. He took great pride and joy in serving others. Neil loved leeching, hunting, fishing, trapping and anything being outdoors. His true passion and talent was in his artwork. He loved making gifts for family members, and he always apologized as it was not a purchased gift, but was made with love and caring. Neil's love for his family was unending and unconditional. He truly loved Gramma Marge and was living with her and taking care of her. He especially loved his five children, Kelsey, Ashley, Gauge and Nindonnis. His heart was broken beyond repair when he lost his daughter Aiyana, he felt she was our guardian angel. Neil is survived by his parents Vicki Bellanger, Mike Kappes and Dan Englund; his children: Kelsey, Ashley, Gauge, and Nindonnis; a grandmother, Gramma Marge Bellanger; a sister: Danielle Englund (Jim Spalla); brothers: Kris Wilkins, and Levi (Jessica)Englund; his closest and best friend whom he considered his brother, Jesse Fain; aunts and uncles: Mike and Theresa Bellanger, Patti and David DeGroat; many extended family cousins, great aunts and uncles. Neil is preceded in death by his daughter, Aiyana Englund; grandparents, Bill and Betty Englund, Lowell Bellanger, and Lula Kappes. Blessed be the memory of Neil Englund.
