Norma Anderson

September 6, 1937 — February 22, 2014

Norma Jean Anderson was born September 3, 1937 to Lee and Della (Nyquist) Taylor in Stafford, Kansas. Strong in her Christian faith, and the assurance of life eternal, she went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Norma was a woman of prayer who lived graciously with Multiple Sclerosis for 30 years. The chronic disease took away her ability to walk, but not to live. She lived her life to the fullest. She was known as a prayer warrior, she depended on the Lord for her strength. Norma grew up south of Moorhead, MN. graduating from Moorhead High School in 1955. On May 30, 1958 Norma married Dennis Anderson. Denny's coaching career took them to Hendrum, Ada, and Fergus Falls before returning to Moorhead State, and later to Frazee. Norma made friends easily and always said, "People are great wherever you go."

Norma worked at Clay County Social Services and later at Wadena County as a financial supervisor. In 1977, Norma and Denny moved from Moorhead to their dream log home near Dent, MN. It was there that Norma, an avid antique collector, opened Log Cabin Antiques. In 1988, Norma's M.S disability required them to move from their log home to Detroit Lakes. Norma did not let this take away her joy. She loved socializing with family and friends, and her biggest reward and joy in life came from her children and grandchildren. Norma is survived by her husband, Dennis, her three children: Tari (Mike) Driscoll of Glyndon, MN, Jodi (George Myren) Anderson, Detroit Lakes, MN, and Matt (Stacey) Anderson of Minot, ND, eight grandchildren; Tyler (Cheryl) Bormann, Luke Driscoll, Jake (Krista) Driscoll, Brock Bormann, Sarah (Matt) Driscoll, Hayley Kapusta, Elizabeth Driscoll and Sam Priem. one great-grandson; Graeme Bormann, two sisters, Dorothy Zank of Modesta, CA. and Betty (Jerry) Sveum of Mt. Vernon, MO, Sisters-in-law; Gloy Jacobson of Milwaukee, WI., Cleo Bonn of Omaha, NE, Karen (Lou) Krenz of Springfield, IL., Colleen (Greg) Sedivy of Prior Lake, MN. and brother-in-law, Steve Anderson of Fosston, MN. Dear to Norma's heart were her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also blessed by her amazing healthcare workers, who cared for her these last months. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; Lee and Della Taylor, her infant daughter; Stephanie, brothers-in-law; Paul Bonn, and John Zank, brother and sister-in-law; Charles and Darlene Anderson, mother and father-in-law; Casper and Myrtle Anderson.
