Presbyterian Church in Crookston, MN. Norma attended a small country school and graduated from Northwest School of Agriculture. Following her schooling, she worked for a few years in St. Paul, MN. Norma was united in marriage on May 20, 1944 to William Hoerner in California where William was stationed during his military service. After the war, they moved back to the Crookston area and began farming. Norma worked hard raising their family while assisting as much as possible with farm chores. They retired in 1980 and in 1987 bought a lake home on Munson Lake near Detroit Lakes. Norma and William enjoyed their retirement years together, spending their summers on the lake and wintering in Mesa, AZ. William passed away in January of 2000.
Norma enjoyed gardening, fishing, flea marketing with William, reading and playing cards with her family and friends. She loved family gatherings and spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Norma will be remembered and deeply missed by her children: Marilyn Sauve of Big Lake, MN, Robert (Sheila) Hoerner of Warren, MN, Connie (Daniel) Swartz of Fargo, ND, Jackie (Jerry) Januschka of Little Falls, MN and Gary (Lori) Hoerner of Crookston, MN. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William, two sisters; Gen Ostendorf and Jess Froyd and one brother Walter Morgan.
