Orville Wayne “Bible” Belland, age 66, of White Earth, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, at his home in White Earth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 29, 2022, at St. Columba Episcopal Church in White Earth. A visitation will be at the church from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, and will continue an hour prior to the mass.
Orville was born on January 15, 1956, to Leslie and Florence (Jackson) Belland in White Earth. He grew up in White Earth and attended school in White Earth and Waubun, MN. Orville would go on to earn his GED. Throughout his life he worked as a security guard for the White Earth Congregate Housing and at the White Earth Clinic. He also worked as a counselor’s aid for the half-way house in White Earth. In addition, he worked in food distribution for Commodities in Mahnomen, MN. Most recently, he drove for White Earth Public Transit. During the 1980’s he spent several years in the Minneapolis area before returning home.
Orville enjoyed his time fishing and in the company of his friends and family. He liked driving around and going to garage sales and Pow-Wows. Orville was an animal lover and his dogs, Buster and Sky, were like children to him.
Orville is survived by his nieces and nephews: Paulette Belland of White Earth, MN; Stacey (Jean) Weaver of White Earth, MN; Brad (Deb) Weaver of White Earth, MN; Wallace Weaver of White Earth, MN; Matt (Donna) Weaver of White Earth, MN; Clyde (Amanda) Weaver of White Earth, MN; Kimberly Weaver of White Earth, MN; Michael Belland of White Earth, MN; and Terry (Brenda) Fairbanks of Naytahwaush, MN; and his cousin: Kevin (Jocelyn) Jackson of Bemidji, MN; Norman Jackson of St. Cloud, MN; Cody Eaglefeather of White Earth, MN; and Shannon Jackson of Minneapolis, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Florence Belland; siblings: Clyde Belland, Melvin Belland, Larry Belland, Leslie Belland Jr.; Shirley Belland, Jeanette Belland, and Ruby Weaver; and nieces and nephews: Donna Fairbanks, Ken Fairbanks, Douglas Fairbanks, and Arnold Belland.
