Patricia L. Basswood, 43, Ogema, MN, died Saturday, February 7 at St. Mary’s-Innovis Health Center in Detroit Lakes. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, February 11 at the Old Pine Point School in Ponsford, MN, Rev. Robert “Dub” Roy and Mike Swan, officiating. Interment will be in Breck Memorial Episcopal Cemetery, Ponsford. Friends may call from 4:00 PM Tuesday, February 10 until the time of the service Wednesday at the Old Pine  School in Ponsford.


Patricia Lynn Basswood, known as “Patti Lynn” was born September 26, 1965 in Park Rapids, MN to Norman Blakely and Mary Lou Basswood. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Anna and Albert Basswood. She attended Pine Point Elementary School and Park Rapids (MN) High School and Circle Of Life High School in White Earth. Patricia was in the process of obtaining her G. E. D. at the time of her death. During her working life, Patti Lynn did leeching, worked for Swift & Company in Detroit Lakes and for the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. Her world revolved around her son, Dennis, but she also enjoyed fishing, netting, leeching, harvesting rice, picking berries in her secret spot, and Pow-Wows where she was a jingle dress dancer.Survivors include her significant other of 12 years, Dennis St. Clair, Sr. of Ogema; son, Dennis Frank St. Clair II of Ogema; mother, Mary Lou Basswood of Ponsford; niece, whom she raised, Crystal Basswood of Ponsford; sister, Barbara (Clarence) Basswood of Ponsford; and a brother, Norman Basswood of Ponsford. She was preceded in death by her father; her maternal grandparents, Albert and Anna Basswood and her paternal grandparents, Simon and Rachel Blakely.
