Patricia "Patty" Swenson

Patricia Lynn Swenson, 51, passed away suddenly in her home on Toad Lake, in the loving arms of her forever companion.

Patricia was born on October 29, 1969 to Harlan & Shirley (Worden) Swenson in Park Rapids, MN. After Patricia graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1988, she went on to study at Moorhead State University.

Trish, as her family called her, or Patty, as most knew her, worked for the Becker County Zoning Office for over 20 years, in the later years as the Becker County Zoning Administrator. Trish was elected as the Becker County Recorder in 2014, a position she proudly represented her community that voted her in this position. Trish was one of the hardest working women that treated everyone fairly with a caring heart to all. Trish had a wonderful reputation of being a great boss to work under.

Trish was blessed with the light of her life, her son Tyler Max in 1988. She thrived as a mother, and continuously surrounded him with love as they approached the world together. Trish spent the last 15 years in a loving relationship with David Laine, her forever companion. Dave and Trish had a comforting & supportive deep love that was the foundation of their peaceful life in their beautiful home on Toad lake.

Trish had a welcoming energetic presence to everyone in her life. She was known for opening her heart and home to friends and family with open arms. Trish loved to spend time outdoors gardening, enjoying the lake views and filling many of her free days out on the lake on the pontoon. Trish also loved traveling, with memorable trips with Dave out west and spending time in Arizona. Her loving, ambitious spirit was taken from us too soon, and we will fill our days living in her memory.

Trish is survived by her son Tyler Max Swenson of Detroit Lakes, MN, her longtime companion David Laine of Osage, MN, Sister Kay (Robert) Pihlaja of Nisswa, MN, and Jerry Swenson of Staples, MN. Preceded in death by parents: Harlan Swenson & Shirley Swenson, Brothers: Ronald Swenson, Tommy Swenson, Sisters: Cheryl Swenson, and Delores Swenson.
