Patrick Fearing

Patrick Lee Fearing was born February 5, 1964 in Fargo, ND to Elwood and Sandra (Ness) Fearing. He attended school at Grace Lutheran and graduated from Fargo South High School in 1982. Following high school he enrolled at Moorhead Technical College and completed his degree in diesel mechanics. Pat worked various jobs before accepting a position with Sanitation Products in Fargo. On September 10, 1994, Pat was united in marriage to Melissa Walz at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church. They resided in Fargo. During his working career at Sanitation Products, Pat started out as a welder, working his way into mechanics, service manager and most recently as warranty manager. In October of 1997, Pat was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. On December 31, 1999, Pat received a bone marrow transplant. He later developed chronic graft vs host disease, but throughout the entire process of medical treatments and all the high and lows, Pat kept a positive outlook on life. In September of 2001, Pat and Melissa built a lake home on Upper Cormorant Lake, enjoying the summers spending time with his family where bonfires were one of his favorite times to get together with family and friends, enjoying each others company. Pat's thought was always the more the merrier. Some of his favorite pastimes were water skiing, knee boarding, riding jet ski, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and going on a relaxing motorcycle ride. You would often find him tinkering on things with the house in the garage or around the yard. He also enjoyed the simple things in life. Thunderstorms were always an attraction to him, often taking his daughters out for a dance in the rain. His adventurous spirit was one to love. Pat was looking forward to welcoming three grandchildren into the family, Trevor, Sierra and Katrina. He was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes.

Pat will be remembered and deeply missed by his wife Melissa of Lake Park, daughters: Nicole Fearing (Jim Brossart) of Rugby, ND, Jessica Fearing (Devin Seibold) of Fargo, ND and Ava Fearing of Lake Park. He is also survived by his mother: Sandra Fearing of Detroit Lakes, brother: Jay (Lori) Fearing of Moorhead, MN, father and mother-in-law: Gene & Linda Walz of Audubon, MN, brother-in-law: Bob (Candace) Walz of Fargo, ND, three nephews: Jason Fearing and Tyler Fearing of Moorhead, MN, Zach (Sydney) Walz of Fargo, two nieces: Sasha (Kenny) Riley of Ironton, OH, Mackenzie Walz of Fargo, great-nephew: Oakley Walz and great-nieces: Aubrey Walz and Kalen Riley. His aunts and uncles: Myrna (David) Kalms, Mary (Doug) Weispfenning, Katie (Alan) Lako (Godparents), Ron (Stacy) Ness and Rick (Caroline) Ness.

He is preceded in death by his father: Elwood Fearing, grandparents: Harry (Phyllis) Ness and Rudolph (Verona) Fearing and cousins: Danny Lako and Tonya Foss.
