He moved back to Ponsford in the late 1970's, where attended the Detroit Lakes Vocational and Technical College and received a degree in culinary arts. He was a fan of boxing and basketball who liked watching and participating in both; he would often take trips to tournaments with his family. He enjoyed playing poker and loved his trip to Las Vegas; he had always intended to return. He enjoyed hosting poker games and had a ranking system for each player. He truly loved raising his granddaughter and told her every day how beautiful she is. No matter what he did in life he always had good intentions.
