Patrick Michalik

Patrick A. Michalik, 50, Detroit Lakes, died Monday, June 1st at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9th at David Donehower Funeral Home. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes. Patrick Andrew Michalik was born March 24, 1965 in Minneapolis, MN to James and Helen (Harris) Michalik. He attended Putnam Elementary, NE Junior High and Edison High School in Minneapolis. After high school he attended vocational school in Columbia Heights for TV and radio communications. Patrick was united in marriage to Lisa Olson in St. Louis Park, MN. After marriage they resided in the Minneapolis area had had one son named Taylor. Patrick and Lisa later divorced. He lived in Alaska and Texas before moving to Detroit Lakes to be closer to family. In his spare time Patrick found enjoyment completing art projects. He was a talented artist when it came to etching and painting. He also enjoyed bowling, dancing, and woodworking and visiting with friends he made at Lakes Homes in Detroit Lakes. At a young age he followed Native American culture and continued that interest throughout life.

Patrick is survived by his one son: Taylor Michalik of Coon Rapids, MN, mother and step-father: Helen Harris-St. Clair (Jim), one brother: David Ray Michalik of Baton Rouge, LA, two step-brothers: Tony (Liz) St. Clair of Minneapolis, Lonnie (Tanya) St. Clair of Columbia Heights, MN and step-sister: Traci St. Clair of Baton Rouge, LA along with his three favorite aunts: Latana Harris-Amsden (Allan) of Mora, MN, Darlene Harris of Mora, MN and Geraldine Harris-Jones (Rick) of Illinois, and his favorite nieces and nephew: Jessica Michalik- Johnson, Nicole Marie Michalik and Jeremiah Michalik. He is preceded in death by his beloved sister: Laura Lea Michalik, one aunt: Evelyn Harris-Wegner, maternal grandfather: Ray Harris, step-grandmother: Isabelle Harris and paternal grandparents: Andrew (Sophie) Michalik.
