Patrick Lee Wichern, age 52, of Waubun, died on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes.
Patrick was born on April 8, 1963 to Earl Wichern and Irene Bush in Mahnomen, MN. He grew up in White Earth where he graduated from The Circle of Life Academy in 1983. After graduation he moved to Minneapolis where he worked in construction for the Urban Coalition. In 1986 he returned to White Earth and in 1987 he met LuWanda Jackson, whom with he would spend the rest of his life. After his return, Patrick worked numerous odd jobs before working at White Earth Land Recovery, where he worked as a sustainable communities assistant coordinator until 2014. Patrick enjoyed fishing, grilling, and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and being with family. He is survived by his soul mate, LuWanda Jackson; children, Patrick Wichern Jr. of White Earth, Brandon Wichern of White Earth, Andrea Thompson of White Earth, Alaina Thompson of White Earth, Danielle Wichern of White Earth, Shawna Wichern of White Earth, and Erica Wichern of White Earth; sisters, Barb (Dale) DeFoe of Cloquet, Dawn Bernard (Ronald) of Sebeka, Sonja Wichern of Cloquet, and Samantha Wichern of Lake Park; brothers, Michael Wichern of Cloquet, and Brian (Terri) Wichern Sr. of White Earth; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Sandra Wichern; his step-father, William "Bill" Brown; and three grandchildren, Amelia Wichern, Starre Wichern, and Aveeyon Kier.
