Pauline DeWitt was born December 9, 1926 in Moore Park, MI to Vinton and Beryl (Ford) Smith. She was raised in Michigan and is a 1944 graduate of Three Rivers High School in Three Rivers, MI. Pauline was united in marriage to Myron "Jack" DeWitt June 22, 1946 in Detroit Lakes. They raised their family and spent their entire married life in Detroit Lakes. Pauline loved singing and dancing. She and Jack enjoyed many years at "the cabin" on Trowbridge Lake near Vergas, MN. She was a wonderful cook enjoyed canning, freezing things from her garden and sewing for her family. She also enjoyed serving her church in many different ways. She enjoyed the services, Bible studies, teaching Sunday School and serving on boards and committees. She also treasured the time she spent with the church ladies making quilts and having lunch. Pauline had a passion for reading, gardening, crocheting, quilting and collecting stuffed "Beanie Babies" and monkeys. Following Jack's death in 1988, she took a few trips with her brother, Richard and his wife, Lois in their camper. They traveled to Florida, across the south to Texas and back home on one wonderful trip. Her true love was spending time with good friends over a meal and a good cup of coffee In 2012, she moved to Oak Terrace Assisted Living in Mankato. She made many friends there.
