Phyllis Robins

Phyllis Margaret Robins, age 83, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN. Services for Phyllis are scheduled for Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church in rural Detroit Lakes at 2:00 pm, with her son, Pastor Dale Robins Jr. Officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the David Donehower Funeral Home . Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00PM, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Phyllis Margaret Robins was born on October 5, 1929 to Gordon and Lulu (Bensend) Finley. Phyllis resided with her parents in Hovland, MN. and attended Cook County High School in Grand Marais, MN. During this time she helped her mother with cleaning cabins in the Hovland area, as well as helping in the care of her sister, Mae. Phyllis and Dale Robins Sr. were married on February 1, 1954 at the Congregational Church in Grand Marais. They made their residence in Grand Marais where Phyllis was a homemaker. In 1971 they moved to Lancaster, California where they lived for 24 years. In 1995 Phyllis and Dale moved to Detroit Lakes, moving into the Golden Manor Assisted living in 2004. Phyllis moved to the Frazee Care Center in December of 2006, and resided there until her death. Phyllis was a member of the Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church in rural Detroit Lakes, MN. Phyllis loved country music, flowers, collecting trinkets and fishing.

She is survived by one son, Dale (Pat) Robins Jr; one sister, Mae Benson of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years; Dale Sr., one sister; Myla Hanson, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Calvin and Beverly Hardiman.
