Pierre Andre Van Wert, known as "Pete" was born June 17, 1938 in White Earth, MN to Sylvester and Charlotte (Defoe) Van Wert. He was raised and educated in White Earth and St. Paul, MN. During his working life, he worked as a radiator repair man in St. Paul. Upon his retirement, he returned to White Earth.
Pete enjoyed fishing, BS'ing with the guys, playing horseshoe and playing cards.
Survivors include a daughter, Dawn and her husband, Brad Plumley of St. Paul, MN, a son, Perry Sherman of Deer River, MN, a step-son, Eugene Sherman of Bena, MN, 5 grandchildren, Bella "Tica" Smith, Felicia Plumley, Robert Davison, Rebecca Davison and Cassandra Person, 3 great grandchildren, Kayla Plumley, James Smith and Josie Smith, a brother, Sylvester Van Wert of Milwaukee, WI and a sister, Ona and her husband, Stanley Richards of Stacy, MN. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise, a son, Craig, his parents, 4 sisters, Margaret, Ruth, Loanna, Monica, 3 brothers, Leon, Arthur and Fenton.
