Quinten Hjelter

November 8, 1918 — December 29, 2009

Quinten Ralph Conrad Hjelter was born November 8, 1918 in Adrian , North Dakota to Rolf and Christina (Torkelson) Hjelter. He moved with his family to Frazee in 1921. He is a 1937 graduate of Frazee High School . He served with the U. S. Army 1942 – 1945 serving in a number of countries in Europe . Following his discharge, he worked for the Frazee Coop Creamery and later farmed near Frazee. Quinten was united in marriage to Emma Miliander September 20, 1961 in Detroit Lakes , MN . They farmed near Frazee and Quinten served as a state fire warden for 47 years, retiring upon entering the Care Center in September, 2009. He also served on the Burlington Township Board for many years; was the caretaker at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee and was the Past Commander of VFW Post #7702 in Frazee.





He enjoyed time with his family, farming, the outdoors, gardening and visiting.





Survivors include his wife, Emma of Frazee, a daughter: Quenette (Kevin) Rennolet of Frazee, a grandson: Jason Rennolet of Frazee. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Stella, Palma , Ethel and Elsie and 2 brothers: Glen and William.
