Raymond Gierszewski

Raymond Paul Gierszewski, 78, of Hawley MN passed away peacefully on March 18, 2016 in his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 23 at 11AM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Lake Park, MN. Visitation will be at the church from 6pm-7pm followed by a prayer service at 7pm. Ray was born on January 25, 1938 in Drayton, ND to Marion and Zenobia (Kalka) Gierszewski. He graduated from Drayton High School. Ray married Diane Wagner and they had five children. Ray later married Nancy (Nelson) Roones and had one son; Dennis. Ray was a mechanic and plumber, owning and operating TriTown Mechanical for several years. Ray and Nancy also had a fruit farm, often sharing their crops with all to enjoy. Ray was an avid Minnesota Twins fan; he loved the outdoors and enjoyed going camping and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Nancy Gierszewski of Hawley, along with his children: Marion (Carla) Gierszewski of Redmond, WA, Ann (Tim) Toso of Fargo, ND, Pamela (Larry) Kensinger of Christine, ND, Paul (Lisa) Gierszewski of Norcross, GA, Mary Gierszewski of Columbia, SC, Dennis Gierszewski of Hawley, MN, Janet (John) Ramirez of Columbus, OH, Jeannie Roones of Ada, MN, Daniel Roones of Columbus, OH. In addition he is survived by 18 grandchildren: Nathan Gierszewski, David Gierszewski, Mandy Toso, Hope Hotchkiss, Jessica Hotchkiss, Kristina Hotchkiss, Kyle Kensinger, Dakota Gierszewski, Cassandra Gierszewski, Mikayla Gierszewski, Jennifer Hennessey, George Hennessey, Quincy Gierszewski, Zechariah Smith, Jabez Smith, Julian Ramirez, Nicholas and Leanna Roones along with many other dear family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Joseph's Indian School, P.O. Box 300 Chamberlain, SD 57325-0300.
