Rebecca Ann “Becky” Heinecke of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away on August 31, 2021 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Becky was born in Fargo on April 26,1972 to Steven and Joanne Drengson. Her daddy Steve died in an accident in 1975. Her mother remarried Arvin Bergstedt, and he adopted her two children in 1978.

Becky grew up in Hazen, ND, graduating from Hazen High School in 1990. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, and worked at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND, before moving to Detroit Lakes in 2007.

On May 13, 2008, Becky and John Heinecke were married in Detroit Lakes. Together, they enjoyed their five children, spending much of their time at sporting events. A special time for the family was “Heinecke Day” on March 1st of each year, celebrating John’s adoption of Ty, Braden, and Sadie in 2012. Becky loved spending time at the lake, watching the kids’ tube and waterski. Being wrapped up in a blanket with her dog, Winnie, on her lap, while riding along on a slow pontoon, was her idea of perfection. Becky was kind, humorous, giving, encouraging, and celebrated life with all she met. She cross stitched for years, creating one-of-a-kind Christmas tree ornaments for people commemorating their families’ births, weddings, and other special occasions.

Becky’s dialysis career started in Minot and Fargo, ND, before she became the Sanford Dialysis Detroit Lakes manager for the past 10 years, she loved her dialysis family in Detroit Lakes, especially her patients, going above and beyond to ensure their care was exceptional. She was the ultimate caregiver and was highly regarded by everyone she met.

There aren’t enough words to describe the genuine presence Becky was in this wonderful world that God created. Her faith in Jesus was the rock upon which her life was based, knowing that she would spend eternity in heaven.

Becky is survived by her husband John Heinecke; Children Ty (Stephanie), Braden, Sadie, Scott (Jasmyn), and Lindsey (Tim) Brekken; siblings; Twyla (Doug) Wick and Anthony (Tanya) Drengson; mother: Joanne Bergstedt, Detroit Lakes; Father: Arvin Bergstedt, Arizona; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father Steven and her grandparents.
