Rebecca "Becky" Dorothy Jasch passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 21 at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit lakes at the age of 56. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27 at David Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, Father Todd Arends officiating. The visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Becky was born on October 29, 1958 to John and Dorothy Marcella (Johnson) Weets at St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes. She attended Detroit Lakes High School and received her G.E.D. in 1976. She later graduated with an associate's degree in business management from the Detroit Lakes Vocational & Technical School in 1979. In 1984 she earned a degree in medical records/reception and then worked towards her cosmetology degree in Wadena. In 1977 she began her career as a property manager where she at one time managed 102 apartments and worked for companies like Theis & Talle of Chanhassen and Phoenix of Fargo. She retired in 2008 and began her passion of volunteer work for the Humane Society of the Lakes and more recently with the Lucky Dog Marshmallow Foundation. Here she worked to rescue and find homes for abandon and neglected animals. Her efforts included organizing fundraisers, silent auctions, and fostering animals herself. Becky was united in Marriage to Jon Jasch on August 27, 1977 in Detroit Lakes. On August 8, 1979 her son, Jon Jr. was born. She was devoted to her family and was overjoyed to become a grandmother on August 28, 2012 with the birth of her grandson, Silas. Becky had a big heart and spoiled her son and her grandson at every opportunity. She also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and was an excellent cook. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marcella; an infant sister, JoAnn; and nephews, Chan and Leonard Litzau. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jon; her son, Jon Jr; a grandson, Silas; brothers, John Weets of Detroit Lakes, Thomas (Janis) Weets of Osage, and Ernie Heden of Detroit Lakes; sisters, Karen Stilke of Detroit Lakes, Mary (Ronald) Hamm of Frazee; and many nieces and nephews.
