Richard Kyte

Dick was born to James Emmett Kyte and Mable "Mae" H. (Engle) Kyte on March 29, 1933 in Carrington, ND. He moved to Detroit Lakes, MN as a young boy with his parents. He attended school and graduated from the Holmes School in 1951. He attended college in Fargo, ND. Dick followed in his father's footsteps and took over Kyte Painting & Decorating. Dick was married to Arlene Frahm in Frazee on February 18, 1961. They had three children. They made their home in Frazee. Dick & Arlene divorced in 1988. Dick remained in Frazee his entire life. In the 80's, Dick also owned and operated " Paintin' Place," a paint and decorating store in Frazee that also featured antique furniture and refinishing. Dick painted until health forced him to retire. Dick enjoyed duck and deer hunting, oil painting, reading, working jigsaw puzzles, watching all sports, and watching Jeopardy. Dick was an excellent baker and many friends and family members were treated to his cookies. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brother-in-laws: Bob Perszyk, Steve Boedigheimer, Jim Griffith, Bob Frahm, and Jack Frahm. He will be remembered and greatly missed by his three children: Dr. Rick (Cindy) Kyte, La Crosse, WI, Carrie (Marty) Tessman, Farmington, MN, and Bart Kyte, Eveleth, MN; 5 siblings: Judy (Dovie) Raye, Detroit Lakes, Jim (Carolyn) Kyte, Perham, Sue Perszyk, Perham, Vicki Boedigheimer, Bagley, Robbie (Allan) Schoenberger, Richwood, and "adopted" brother, Glen Olson, Bloomington, MN; grandchildren Ian Kyte, Evan Kyte, Shawn (Andrea) Tessman, Stephanie Tessman, Sam Kyte, Addi Kyte, and great grandchildren Amber and Westin Tessman, and several nieces and nephews.
