Richard H. Thompson, 39, rural Ogema, MN, died Wednesday, October 27 in Naytahwaush, MN. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 4 at 11:00 AM at St. Columba Episcopal Church in White Earth, MN, Mother Lisa Smith, officiating. Interment will be in St. Columba Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 PM Wednesday until 9:30 Thursday at the White Earth Community Center in White Earth.
Richard Harris “Rick” Thompson was born October 9, 1971 in Minneapolis, MN to Harrison Keezer and Deborah Thompson. He moved with his family to White Earth in 1980 and lived with his grandparents, Harry and Irene Keezer. He attended the Circle Of Life School, graduating in 1990. He made his home in the White Earth-Ogema area .
Rick enjoyed playing basketball, walking with his children, making Native American crafts, being outdoors and traveling throughout the United States with his grandparents.
Survivors include his significant other: Sasha Burnette – Naytahwaush, MN; children: Anthony Hanks – Minneapolis, MN, Richard A. Thompson - White Earth, MN, Preston Walz – Mahnomen, MN, Kendell Thompson and Harrison Thompson both of Naytahwaush, MN, Dayna Thompson of White Earth, MN, Desiree Thompson of Callaway, MN and Irene Thompson of Naytahwaush, MN; two grandchildren: Cass Thompson and Olivia Thompson both of White Earth, MN; his mother: Deborah Johnson of White Earth and a brother: Sewell Whitefeather of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by a son: Devin Thompson, his father: Harrison Keezer, a sister: Amy Thompson, a cousin, Nicki Lynn Heisler, grandparents: Harry & Irene Keezer and Richard and Greta Thompson, uncles: Vernon and Joseph Keezer and an aunt: Dawn Thompson.
