Roger Warren

May 22, 1940 — August 31, 2014

Roger A. Warren, 74, resident of rural Ogema, MN, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Essential Health-St. Mary's, Detroit Lakes.

Memorial Services for Roger will be held Monday, September 8 at 1PM in the White Earth Community Center, White Earth. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Roger Allan Warren was born May 22, 1940 to John and Isabel (Belecourt) Warren. He graduated from Waubun High School and moved to Kenosha, WI working for American Motors. He moved back home and was employed with Northwest Bell as a lineman for several years. He then attended Culinary Arts training at Minnesota Community and Technical College in Detroit Lakes where he met his future wife Loretta Theisan. After finishing school, Roger and Loretta worked together at Fair Hills Resort and later opened Loret's Café on the corner of Washington Ave and Hwy 34. After selling the café, Roger went to work for the CD Program in White Earth, a position he held for many years. Following Loretta's death, Roger accepted positions with the Soo Pass Ranch. He worked as a grounds keeper for W.E. Fest and cooked at the Ranch House. Roger retired in 2010. He enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage with his buddy Jim St. Claire, playing bingo with his sister and niece and playing slot machines. Roger is survived by his eight siblings Lyle (Wallyann) Warren, Russell Warren, Joe (Sherian) Warren, Ronnie Warren, Kathy Hummingbird all of Ogema, Warren "Dude" (Sherlene) Warren of Waubun, Stanley (Ginny) Warren of Callaway along with close nephews: John Hummingbird of Ogema and William (Michelle) Hummingbird of Phoenix, AZ and niece Jodi Hummingbird (Randy Pickett) of Waubun and numerous additional nieces and nephews whom he loved with all his heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Loretta and two brothers: Ray and John, one sister: Margerite and three nephews and three nieces.
