Roland Lee

Roland "Ron" Jerome Lee, age 85, passed away at Ecumen-The Cottages Assisted Living in Detroit Lakes on Sunday, March 15 under the care of the Hospice of the Red River Valley. A memorial service will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 18 at the David Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. The visitation will be from noon until the time of the service, Pastor Dean Grier officiating. The inurnment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Ron was born on July 1, 1929 to Louis and Marie (Senum) Lee in Detroit Lakes. Ron attended school in Audubon, MN and later graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1947. After graduation he worked for A.O. Olson Drilling Company of Tulsa, Ok. He joined the United States Army in 1951 where he was stationed at White Sands, New Mexico. Ron returned to the oil fields as an oil "roughneck" in Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado. The Lee family purchased the Audubon Hardware Store and Ron became its manager and eventual owner. He then went to work for Krueger Well Drilling in Audubon, MN. Ron was united in marriage to Vivian Silovich in May of 1987 in Audubon, MN Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Marie; brothers, Richard and Louis. He is survived by his wife, Vivian; and her children: Patrick (Cindy) Silovich of Forest Lake, MN; Mary Jo (John) Abbott of Golden, CO; Kathy (Tim) Buggy of New Hope, MN; and Michael (Robin) Silovich of Nashville, TN; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
