Ronald Anderson

Ronald Mervin Anderson, 70, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014. At the time of his passing, Ron was residing in Venice, Florida. Ron was born May 26, 1943, in Detroit Lakes, MN, and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1961. Ron remained in Minnesota the majority of his life, working for the Minnesota Department of Corrections, in Owatonna and Sauk Centre, and in sales for Lutheran Brotherhood and Rambow, Inc., both in New London. He retired in 2005, and in recent years, enjoyed spending time on the warm beaches of Florida. He enjoyed the company of family and friends and had a strong love of sports, especially baseball, and could often be found in the stands at the local ballparks. Ron is survived by his four children: Rhonda (Jim) Wood of Detroit Lakes and their children: Emma, Sophie, Sully and Jen; Zachary (Abby) Anderson of St. Louis Park, MN and their children: Bo and Nash; Marisa (Mike) McNamara of Lakeville, MN and their children: Kevin, Connor and Charlie; and Jamin (Jayme) Anderson of Prior Lake, MN and their children: Asher and Eli. He is also survived by one brother, Bradley (Karen) Anderson, of Moorhead, MN and their children: Nathan (Dana), Randy (Deb), Brian (Celeste) and Vicki (Matt), along with two aunts, Marilyn Hedstrom and Evelyn Hedstrom, and many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mervin and Adeline (Hedstrom) Anderson.
