Ronald Dan Kolnes was born September 19, 1945 in Ada, Minnesota to Lawrence and Eleanor (Dirdahl) Kolnes. He was raised and educated in Hendrum, MN. Ronald was united in marriage to Leoba “Mitzi” Parisian, May 4, 1977 in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Detroit Lakes where he drove truck, mostly hauling grain. He operated Ron Kolnes Trucking and was known as the “Roving Grain Buyer”. He and Mitzy later divorced. Ron also drove Taxi in Detroit Lakes for two years.
Ron enjoyed time with family and friends, fishing, camping, archery, wood working and collecting antiques. He was a member in good standing with AA for 31 years..
Survivors include children: Sonja Kolnes (Andy Pollock) of Detroit Lakes, Tabitha Kolnes (Brian Moore) of Audubon, MN, Kelly Kolnes (Melissa Blackstad) of Amenia, ND, Jesse Kolnes of Detroit Lakes, MN; 5 grandchildren: Trent, Joe, Brian, Jack and Isabella; 2 brothers: Dennis (Harriett) of Hendrum, MN and DuWayne (Corinne) of Waubun, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard.
