Ron Peterson, 69, Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Ron was born November 13, 1949 in Fargo, ND to Alton and Alyce (Pederson) Peterson. The family resided in Detroit Lakes until moving to Moorhead in 1960.
Ron graduated Moorhead High School in 1967 and the University of Minnesota in 1974 earning his DDS Degree. Ron met and married his first wife, Jeanne Papas, in 1972. He was then drafted into the U. S. Air Force in 1974. They were stationed in Honolulu, HI for three years. After completing his military obligation, he and his family moved back to Fargo. Ron established Peterson Dental Office in 1978. He retired in 2012 and moved to his dream home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Ron was united in marriage to Sheryl Sundblad in 1998 in Fargo. They had a love for fishing, travel and their grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sheryl of Detroit Lakes, Daughters: Erica (Gabe) Borquez of San Diego, CA, Carrie Peterson of Fargo, ND, Kristen Peterson (Chris Olson) of Minneapolis, MN, Lisa (Ryan) Babel of Phoenix, AZ, Marie Moeckel of San Diego, CA, seven Grandchildren and his Father, Alton Peterson of Ft. Myers, FL.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Francis Peterson, his Mother, Alyce Peterson and his first wife, Jeanne Peterson.
Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, September 27 at The Vineyard Church in Detroit Lakes. Visitation from 6:00 – 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Thursday, September 26 at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND
